Interior Design
As a life-long learner, I like to keep up with new ideas, concepts and materials to continue to evolve through interior design. Being able to co-create with my clients and bring in the ABC's--align, balance and center--is always my goal. I want to help you make subtle, yet impactful, changes to your environment. My intention is to help you be purposeful with your changes. We can work together using existing furniture and decor for a totally new look, and/or add new elements depending on your needs. It's amazing what some simple rearranging can do for flow!
Sustainable Design
Since the mid-90's, while taking design classes in northern California, I was drawn to the ideas emerging about sustainable design in order to minimize the negative effect on our environment. Some may have heard this referred to as "green" design--installing low-flow toilets, shower heads and faucets is just one simple way to help with water conservation. I can help you adapt so you can go "green", but not spend all of yours doing it. We all can be working toward making our world a better place to live.
Universal Design
The Senior Safety Walk-Thru is a checklist of items that could lead to falls. As we age our mobility and eyesight change and accidents can happen, and falls lead the way. I can help you adapt your home to fit your current and future lifestyle needs which can usually be done easily and inexpensively. Sometimes making rooms safer is as simple as making some adjustments to your furniture layouts to avert those fall potentials.
Universal Design is basically designing for everyone--whether you are three or 83, mobile or physically impaired, tall or short, while still maintaining beautiful design concepts throughout your home. If you want more extensive remodeling for aging-in-place I can help with that, too!
